This seminar is about writing creative work in the context of the Covid–19 pandemic. I talk about the pandemic’s effects on me as a novelist and a freelance Peace Studies and Conflict Management researcher, how the virus and the global upheaval it provoked affected and yet at the same time inspired me. I thus talk about ‘Lockdown Literature,’ the writing that has come out of this experience – with all the accompanying emotions of fear, depression and uncertainty. And I explain the ways in which my art as intervention helped me maintain my sanity during a time when writers around the world were confined to their homes and had their work life disrupted.
