Ethical issues in Business research would include: Respect for Intellectual property rights. plagiarism, respect for respondents rights to information, respect to social norms, fabricating data, putting undue pressure on respondents etc. these and other ethical issues need to be monitored as they affect the research process, and output.

Ethics in research are very important. Most universities and research institutions have ethics committees which ensure that the research they produce is done correctly with proper documentation. These ethics processes protect the researcher, participants and the institutions they are part of. These ethics documents also save time and capital as good findings from an unethical research methodology or any part of the research can not be used and may have dire consequences for the researchers.

Ethical issues are important even for social sciences and are concerned with creating trust. while doing research consent must be sought and assurance is given that the information given herein will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Just as in science Autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice as well as veracity, privacy and confidentiality are important issues to consider.
Currently, postgraduate students from my field seek clearance from National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) which is a member of the International Science Council (ISC).

Ethical consideration pertinent in biological sciences include ensuring integrity by checking plagiarism in reporting, storing research data for reference to incase clarification is required at a later date. During interpretation and reporting of data honesty is key, financial resources granted for the research work should also be declared openly. As a supervisor I have the role to enlighten my students on the ethical issues in their field of research.

ethical issues are key in research and they need to be thought through before one embarks on a study. In my field of study communication and media. The ethical issues that arise include harm to participants ,anonymity and confidentiality, deception and voluntary participation.
Researching in new media especially has complicated the issue of ethics because sometimes one does not know how to access data and whether it is infringing on the confidentiality of the participants. There are no clear guidelines and boundaries between what is personal and what is not. students need to read widely and to borrow from previous research to ensure that issues do not arise concerning especially the data collection methods.

The content is informative and I would add the importance of seeking parental consent in cases where the research involves minors.

Ethical issues in the field of Electronics involves integrity in carrying out the role of a supervisor by following the institutions set rules.
Students are also expected to uphold integrity by avoiding plagiarism as they carry out their research.

Ethics in research should be followed strictly especially when dealing with humans, animals and the environment. There are not many ethical issues in my field but when it comes to testing textile products like wound care textiles then ethical issues emerge. Students should be informed early that ethical issues in research dealing with humans, animals and the environment should be adhered to. This video on ethical issues can be shared with the students to see the examples of experiments that did not adhere to ethical principles. While students are developing their research design, ethical issues should be incorporated. Institutions have a department that deals with ethical issues and liaises with the national ethical office on such research.

Ethical issues that are pertinent in the field of psychology include autonomy- students are required to document a right to informed consent; No maleficence – psychological risks to participants should be minimized; all members of the study population should have equal opportunity of being selected to take part in the study.

To nurture ethical responsibility in students, they should be guided or taken through ethical issues in research and the importance of ethical approval in research.

In my view, the process of obtaining ethical clearance at my institution is quite vigorous and valuable however it takes too long before researchers get feedback on their research proposals.

I am a specialist in strategy. The key issues considered here is handling, with confidentiality, all data regarding participants and competitors. Plagiarism is deemed an academic crime. Recognizing the work of others increases credibility of ones research findings. Researchers are required to seek the consent of participants. To ensure the validity of the data students are required to attach data set as an appendix to their final thesis.

How can ethical responsibility be nurtured among students? Before a student is allowed to carry out research she/he must seek clearance from Ethics and Review Committee established at the university. In teaching Research Methods as a unit, the issue of ethical considerations should be given prominence.

Ethical clearance starts with the supervisors. A section for ethical considerations is checked in the draft proposals. The same is checked during defense of the final proposal. Then the students seek clearance from the University Ethics and Review Committee before proceeding for data collection.

Ethical considerations in economics as my field of study are important, and deliberations about the process of obtaining it is a clear and understandable process.
To nurture ethical responsibilities on the part of the student is that justice must be done to each person and that there is no harm involved during the data collection procedure.

Ethics is a huge consideration in modern-day research. I wonder if it is even ethical to cite studies that were not done ethically (beyond just fabricated/fraudulent/plagiarised studies).

There are ethical issues that are particularly pertinent in my field i.e. education. Education researchers ensure that they allocate credit by citing the source of information for the work obtained from other sources. Honesty in interpretation and reporting of research is another key area of concern in education research. Plagiarism is another important area considered as an ethical issue in the field of education. Furthermore, only data collected after ethical approval has been given can be approved for use.

Wonderful presentation. I feel the issue of ethics cuts across disciplines and it is very difficult to convince the scientific community about your findings without showing proof of adherence to research ethics.

I mentor my students and it is mandatory to have ethical clearance issued by various accredited ethics review committees. This how to nurture upcoming scholars. My institution has an ethics committee and their work is superb.
